------------------- UPDATE -------------------
Our MOU is on the BOE agenda for Wednesday, May 6.

(Scroll down to "Download Resources". We are on page 203 of the Agenda.)
There is significant work involved in advancing the MOU to the Board of Estimates (BOE). The City Union of Baltimore remains in ongoing communication with the Labor Commissioner’s Office, and once we receive official notice of the date the MOU will appear on the BOE agenda, we will immediately share that information with our represented members.
To provide clarification regarding the process: our MOU was ratified on March 19, 2026, which initiated the formal review and submission process for BOE approval. Once the draft agreement was prepared by the City’s legal negotiating team, both parties were required to review the document for any necessary revisions or corrections.
After that review is completed, the MOU must then undergo review by the City Law Department, as this is a legally binding agreement between the City Union of Baltimore and the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore. Following that step, the agreement is submitted to the Comptroller’s Office for placement on the BOE agenda for consideration and approval.
Once approval is granted, the Labor Commissioner will notify the union regarding when represented members can expect payroll adjustments and any applicable retroactive payments and we will notify members immediately.
If you, or other members are not receiving emails from the union office, please proceed to aftmd.us/cub-stay-in-touch to provide your non-work contact information to us and to begin receiving updates.
In solidarity,
Antoinette Ryan-Johnson, President
City Union of Baltimore, Local 800, AFT, AFL-CIO
