With Support from the Department of Human Resources Wellness Program and the Office of the Labor Commissioner, monthly activities are planned to help employees with personal and professional goals. Jump Start January Better Health Symposium will kick-off the monthly series presented by Mayor Young and also featuring guest speaker and fitness expert, Laurent Amzallag. There will be vendors on site from various healthcare companies and wellness programs too.

Low wage earners who work for Baltimore city will get a boost to owning homes in the city thanks to the work of the City Union of Baltimore. The union worked with elected officials to get a property tax credit through the General Assembly and now it has been introduced at the local level. This credit would give the lowest paid city employees a $2,500 property tax credit. CUB President Antoinette Ryan-Johnson said, “City employees sometimes risk health and harm to do their job,” a reference to injuries and near fatalities suffered by city employees.

The City Union of Baltimore is saddened to learn of the passing of Jeffrey Raymond. Mr. Raymond's service at the Department of Public Works was crucial to keeping CUB and the public informed on the various issues at the department. In our dealings with Mr. Raymond, he was always honest, kind, and fair. His calming presence and clarity in thought and word made complex issues easier to understand.

Our deepest sympathies to his wife Beth, son Seth and his entire family during this period of mourning. As grief passes and becomes warm memories of love, we hope his family knows the positive impact
