City Union of Baltimore Members employed with the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore:
It has come to our attention, via the Labor Commissioner's office, that the one time negotiated bonus of $750 for FY22, minus all applicable taxes, is being distributed tomorrow 9/16/2022 to CUB members.
As the landscape of student debt shifts, and more and more opportunities allow borrowers to have their debt relieved, the AFT is using every avenue to ensure that the word is out. In affiliate meetings, telephone town halls, media coverage and social media, the union is spreading the news, and at a student debt clinic at AFT headquarters in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 31, AFT President Randi Weingarten vowed to reach as many people as possible with information that could save them tens—and sometimes hundreds—of thousands of dollars.
The City Union of Baltimore’s (CUB) August monthly member meeting featured interns from the Occupational Safety and Health Internship Program (OHIP) making a final presentation. The interns, Diana Quintanilla and Audra Lucas, shared with the membership their findings after an eight week program that focused on health and safety of Baltimore city employees in the Department of Public Works (DPW) and Department of Transportation (DOT). They worked under the guidance of President Antoinette Ryan-Johnson and Keith Wrightston, Assistant Director of Health Issues for the AFT.
