Lobby Night with AFT-Maryland

City Union of Baltimore members joined with members from other AFT-Maryland locals in Annapolis to lobby for a range of issues important to Maryland public employees. Delegates and state Senators heard from members about everything from due process rights for Maryland School for the Deaf employees, to education funding, to property tax cuts for low wage Baltimore city employees, among other issues the federation will press during the current legislative session.

The largest act of solidarity was seeing members from municipal unions lobby for state workers as well as watching teachers and educators lobby for better staffing ratios in state run health centers. The state federation represents a wide range of public employees who serve as education professionals, health care professionals, as well as state and municipal civil servants.
