CUB Distributes PPE to Worksites

The City Union of Baltimore continues to try to protect members as best as possible while they continue to provide essential services to the citizens of Baltimore. President Antoinette Ryan-Johnson and organizer Janell Edmonds made drop offs of essential personal protective equipment (PPE) to two locations where members are still on the job. Both locations were offices that house employees who work for the Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development.

The first location was an East Baltimore office where President Ryan-Johnson gave the supplies to a member who distributed them to those workers on the job. The second location was in Northwest Baltimore where a member received the distribution for employees at that worksite. Each office contains City Union of Baltimore members who work in various aspects of housing, namely in code enforcement.

The union continues to monitor developments as Baltimore city gradually re-opens and attempts to get back to business. The city reopening does not negate the danger of the Coronavirus and CUB is committed to aiding members stay as safe as possible on the worksite. PPE are basic measures of protections that are scientifically proven to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus.
