National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
is April 9-15, 2023
The City Union of Baltimore is proud of and grateful for everyone who works in our 3-1-1, 9-1-1, and Police Emergency Dispatcher call center. You invaluable heroes are the first responders that aid Baltimoreans in times of trouble. Your professionalism and dedication bring certainty and help in moments of confusion and fear.
Telecommunicators are the unsung heroes of our communities. They work long hours, often in stressful and dangerous conditions. They are trained to handle a wide range of emergencies, from medical calls to fires to crimes in progress. They must be able to think quickly and make sound decisions under pressure.
We owe a debt of gratitude to our telecommunicators. They are the first line of defense in our communities, and they play a vital role in keeping us safe. This week, let us take a moment to thank them for their service.
Here are some ways to show your appreciation for telecommunicators:
- Send a thank-you card or letter to your local 911 center.
- Donate to a charity that supports telecommunicators.
- Share your appreciation on social media using the hashtag #NPSTW.
Thank you, telecommunicators, for your service!
