CUB Members Health and Safety Survey

Dear CUB Members,

I have consistently heard complaints surrounding workplace safety and working conditions, and we have established a CUB Health and Safety Committee to start the process of addressing these complaints. In addition to the committee, CUB is partnering with AFT and AFT-Maryland to conduct a Summer 2022 Occupational Health Intern Program (OHIP). We will have two interns – one from Georgetown University and one from the University of Maryland – working with us this summer.

CUB members who fill out the Health and Safety Survey will be entered into a drawing to win one of several $50 gift cards (one entry per person; must be a CUB member)

The first step to this work is to conduct a member survey. This is our way of hearing from our members about your workplace safety concerns. Then, our interns will analyze the data that we receive from these surveys and help to identify priority areas to initially focus our attention.

The interns and staff from the City Union of Baltimore, AFT, and AFT-Maryland will then work with us this summer to conduct group meetings and site visits to collect more information and build a strategy for action. AFT staff will provide OSHA 10 training to our staff and committee, and we will become an empowered voice in the workplace.

Please complete this survey and return to us by June 20, 2022. Thank you for participating in this arduous task and stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for survey results and further directions of this summer program.
