CUB Retiree Officer Installation 2019

The City Union of Baltimore Retiree Chapter (CUB 800-R) held elections and officer installation on Friday, September 20, 2019. Donald Morris was re-elected President. James Carroll will serve as the Vice President, with Betty Lee as Treasurer and Elizabeth Morris as Secretary. The election was overseen by CUB president Antoinette Ryan-Johnson. Following the counting of ballots, the officers were sworn in by AFT-Maryland president, Marietta English.

The retiree chapter provides continued support to the union and the state federation. Members of the chapter regularly do phone-banking for federation endorsed candidates, attend and support during community events, and testify on issues affecting municipal workers. They are great advocates for currently working members of the union because they speak from the same experience and perspective of those members.

Following the election and swearing-in of officers, the retirees and leadership from CUB and AFT-Maryland enjoyed lunch together, celebrating the officers and welcoming newly retired city employees into the chapter. It was a great way to kick off the weekend, and all of the officers shared how eager they are to continue the work of the chapter.
