The City Union of Baltimore Retiree Chapter (CUB 800-R) held elections and officer installation on Friday, September 20, 2019. Donald Morris was re-elected President. James Carroll will serve as the Vice President, with Betty Lee as Treasurer and Elizabeth Morris as Secretary. The election was overseen by CUB president Antoinette Ryan-Johnson. Following the counting of ballots, the officers were sworn in by AFT-Maryland president, Marietta English.

The job of a union is to ensure fairness for its members. The City Union of Baltimore (CUB) heard from our members and leapt into action to ensure fairness. This issue at hand: members who are supervisors in solid waste had maxed out their comp time but were denied overtime. These members were working overtime however to account for staffing shortages in the department. Members were rightfully frustrated with what was a patently unfair rule and as they should, they brought the issue to their union.

Upon being informed of this, CUB directed our attention to this issue to soon right this wrong. A
